  • Oversee the development and implementation of curriculum and policy for the College of Arts & Sciences’ (CAS) First Fellows Program, a pilot program designed to foster, support, and expand the academic opportunities and attainment of first-generation CAS students.
  • Advise on and provide content and operational expertise on policy matters pertaining to program.

Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Diversity, Equity, and Belonging
  • Collaborate with the Dean and the Vice Dean for Undergraduate Education on College-specific diversity, equity, and belonging initiatives affecting over 20 academic departments and the experience of about 3,600 undergraduates.
  • Serve on the Community Scholars Program’s leadership team to maintain program mission priorities in the areas of admission, curriculum delivery, and enrollment management.
  • Lead the development of an inclusive advisement toolkit intended to enhance culturally engaging advising skills of 17 academic deans.
  • Coordinate academic support services and retention efforts for students served by the Office of Student Equity and Inclusion (OSEI).
Academic Administration
  • Liaise with the Faculty of Literatures, Cultures, and Language Studies (LCL), a division comprised of 10 departments that deliver the courses for the foreign language requirement of approximately 4,000 students, in matters relevant to academic advising, enrollment management, and other student-facing policies.
  • Develop, interpret, and apply academic policies at CAS in collaboration with faculty and a team of College Deans, affecting the academic careers of about 3,600 students.
Advising
  • Advise 175 students across the degree lifecycle majoring in foreign languages, including assisting students transitioning to college, guiding advisees through degree completion, and supporting students through graduate and professional school applications.
  • Connect students working through challenges with campus resources to improve well-being, mental and physical health, and academic experience.

Advising and Teaching
  • Advise 250 students in the junior and senior classes majoring in foreign languages and psychology, including guiding advisees through degree completion and supporting students through graduate and professional school applications.
  • Connect students facing challenges with campus resources to improve their well-being, mental and physical health, and academic experience.
  • Evaluate, approve, and articulate transfer credit from domestic and foreign institutions.
  • Teach courses in composition, English literature (including Latinx literature), and Spanish language.

  • Serve on the leadership team of the Community Scholars Program (CSP) to maintain program mission priorities in the areas of admission, curriculum delivery, and enrollment management. Also, teach writing courses to students participating in the program, when available.
